Helplessness Blues

Well, hi everybody! I am in fact, not dead... Even though I haven't posted on here in almost a month (oh my gosh I didn't even realize it was that long and now I feel terrible). I wish I had better excuses as to why I didn't post, but really I spent most of my time working or on Netflix watching LOST. But people started hassling me to post again (and by people I mean Dave), so voila, I am back! :) I really really love the outfit I have on today. These heels, while very painful and terribly hard to walk in, make me feel like I can conquer the world and look pretty cute doing it too. Also, recently I have rekindled my love for watches. I have about 5 or 6 new ones now, so you'll probably be seeing a lot more of them! Oh, and that fun machine I'm sitting on in some of my pictures is a cement mixer, and that's at our house because my dad is building a brand new deck and pizza oven in our backyard, mmm! I can't wait until it's finished. That's about all thats going on in my life right now...so enjoy!

Also- in this post I'm gonna start kind of a new segment with my current craft/diy projects! So when I am too lazy to do my nails am finished with something I've made I'll post on here and kind of explain the process!
So this is just a cheap picture frame I bought from Michael's and dressed up with a little Modge Podge and fabric. It's super easy to do and I think really makes this frame stand out in my room. You pretty much just paint Modge Podge on in little sections and then adhere the fabric to it, making sure to pull it tightly over the edges to secure it. To top it off I just tied an old scrap of lace ribbon I had around the middle. :)
This project was a litttle more difficult. You need a picture printed off of a laser printer, Modge Podge, a damp washcloth, and A LOT of patience. Essentially what you do is cut out the picture, paint it all over with Modge Podge (make sure to get the corners really well!) and then adhere it to a piece of wood (I've also done this method on t-shirts). Let it sit overnight, and come back ready to put in some elbow grease. Lay a damp washcloth over the picture and let it soak until you can faintly see the picture through the paper. Then you have to rub off all of the paper....it took me about an hour and a half to get it all off. But don't lose heart! I think the end result is worth all the hard work and sore fingers. I also distressed the edges a little bit to give it a more rustic feel. :)

Well, there you go! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, but I hope all these new shenanigans make up for it! Have an awesome day, and thanks for reading!

The Cascades

HI! I'm so sorry for being non-existent for the past week, I've been a little under the weather (yeah, in the summer--how lame.) and even though I spent a LOT of time in bed and could've been writing posts, I instead finished both seasons of Pretty Little Liars... Netflix is an issue that I'm trying to overcome. So this outfit I actually wore LAST Friday when I went to check out Toni & Guy! Hopefully I'll start school there in October and be out by July! I attempted a little bit of professional and a little bit of fun with this outfit. A structured blazer with a fun ruffled top and my awesome sailboat necklace! (It was suuuper windy this day so please pardon my hair! haha)

Earlier in the week (last week, haha) I saw a manicure that I really loved that combined these two colors...I'm not sure how I feel about this design. BUT the Sally Hansen HD Glitters are to die for! The polka dots I made with dotting tools, and these are the most handy things I have ever purchased. They can be used to not only to make dots, but flowers, hearts, leopard print, and a ton of other cute designs! I bought mine on Amazon for 6 or 7 dollars, they come in a pack of 5 (with two different size points on each end) and are worth every penny I spent on them!!

Meadowlarks

Hi everybody! This week has not been very busy for me, so I have no excuses as to why I haven't posted...I need to discipline myself more! So, today the sun was SO BRIGHT! Half of the pictures I took I was squinting so badly that it looked like my eyes were closed. BUT- this dress was an awesome purchase that I made at Grove City (AE- $7 <WHAAAT!) and I was just itching for a chance to wear it! Also in my opinion, every single woman needs a good denim jacket. The love that I have for this jacket is like the love for those jeans that fit so perfectly you never want to take them off...and pretty much every denim item in my closet is from the Gap. They just do denim so well. And what adds a little bit of spice to a boring jacket and sundress combo? Cowboy. Boots. What could possibly be a more fun shoe choice?

The blue has returned! And this blue is a newer one in my collection, and let me just say- I adore it! I'm a sucker for a really beautiful dusty navy. Mmm! The print on my pointer and middle fingers is called Ikat, and if you'd like a really good tutorial on how to do it you can click right here! And I really have been digging the pointer and middle fingers as accents because sometimes I'm too lazy to do allll of my fingers...haha.

Quiet Houses

Jackson wanted in on the fashion today! :)
And today is a rather quick post because I'm actually headed out on my first road trip as an adult-ish woman! We are jetting off to the foreign land of Cleveland to visit a friend from high school! So for my outfit today I went with fashion...but also comfort for a 2 hour car ride. Also, it was raining momentarily during the shoot so I brought out my umbrella that matches my nails!

For my nails today, I wanted something bright! So I went with one of my new neons from China Glaze, and this picture definitely does not do justice to this awesome bright pink. (It looks more orange in the picture) And you can never go wrong with polka dots :)

Montezuma

Hi everyone! :) Hope you are all having an awesome week! I know I am. I got to spend last night camping in the middle of nowhere with my best friends, exploring the woods, and eating s'mores! Today I went shopping again with my mom and sister (I need to stop spending money! Eek!) so I thought I would wear some of my new favorite buys! Other than lace, this summer I have also been really into sheer tops. They are so comfortable and cool during this hot weather and perfect to wear all the time. I also just jumped on the bandwagon of the asymmetrical skirt. I was wary at first because I have shorter legs, but you know what, I really like this look! (Sorry for the picture spam, Delaney and I got really excited about the new shoot spot and we couldn't choose our favorites!)

Alright, I decided if I had to get rid of the lace, I had to nix the blue polish for a post as well...but I couldn't bring myself to change the print! So these nails are practically the same as my last post, but I can't get over how easy and beautiful they are! This print has been on my hands 95% of this summer :) Also, if I had to choose only one color that I could wear for the rest of my life it would be the base color of my pointer and middle fingers. Essie polishes have the most B-E-A-UUU-TIFUL finish and application.

Ragged Wood

Hi! I'm back, and sorry for the long silence! I pinky promise I will try to get more consistent with these things. I was on vacation with my boyfriend this past weekend, so that gives me a teeny excuse...maybe?

So, this outfit I wore when I went shopping with two of my friends from high school, one of whom is back visiting from Switzerland! Apparently my sister didn't like my face..? So, yeah, it's pretty non-exsistent in these photos. And as you can tell, I am still super obsessed with lace!

Also, still feeling the blue polish!! Today I went with a royal blue shade and my very favorite flower print inspired by Mr.Candiipants. It is the easiest design and so quick to do!
